Zac Efron used to get closer to girls by asking them to braid his hair.

The ‘High School Musical’ hunk – who has been dating his former co-star Vanessa Hudgens on the set of the musical children’s movie in 2005 – used to befriend his female classmates by letting them fiddle with his locks when he was a teenager.

Lana Limon, who studied with Zac at the California State Summer School for the Arts, said: “I braided his hair one day, and he left it in for a long time. And then we finally took it out and it was all greasy and crimped. It was just for fun.

“He ended up drawing huge lips of one page of my scrapbook with his name inside and his phone number.”

Despite his flirty ways as a teenager, Zac and Vanessa have been happily dating for five years.

The 22-year-old actor even tipped the beauty $20 when he watched her performing in ‘Rent’ at The Hollywood Bowl during her sexy striptease to ‘Out Tonight’.
